Woops. Obviously a builder set-out problem/error.
Narry a mention of a surveyor. And no surveyor-signed-off Building Location Certification (BLC) process. (But $50k for "costs associated with the boundary adjustment". Man, surveyors are creaming it in Tasman! )

Stuff - 20-July-2017 And a happy ending (finally) for this couple. But no mention of an updated or final cost of this solution - although it would appear (reading between the lines) that Council and the Building Company shared the expence.
It would also seem that the TDC do not bother about Building Location Certifications (BLC's) or require Surveyor certified statements that the foundation formwork is in place prior to the pour - in Motueka at least.... (maybe they do now ). Notwithstanding that a BLC adds yet another cost to the process, at least it would (should!) identify building set-out issues before it is too late.
