This report Stuff (Papakura Courier) - 28-June-2018 of a proposed 70-lot subdivision in a rural community close to Auckland highlights some interesting issues and perceptions: - when and how is a "good time" to notify local residents of significant activity changes on land in their communities?
- can we really expect the status-quo (in relation to land development) to be the norm in our young country?
- how wide-spread is this type of seeming ignorance with regard to the need to develop residential land near NZ's largest city?
- how effective are land designations in District/City Plans when Joe & Shirley Public don't remember/bother/care about taking responsibility to be informed about them?

Tragically lost opportunity for a pun: "...new hamlet within Clevedon township..." doesn't play well with the locals.
