I stumbled across this wee gem (www.linz.govt.nz/disturbed-geodetic-control-marks) when seeking information within LandonLine about treating geodetic control marks that have obviously moved due to lateral spreading. In my case the mark is adjacent to the Avon River - SS890 SO 17928.
In my view the mark is DISTURBED and should not be reported as UNPROVEN. But as disturbed (the mark that is, not me...), I am uncomfortable about recording the mark reference as being on my new plan (as per the LoL help instructions). The mark is, after all, the same mark as pre-quake but just in a different position. So the current geodetic view to append the mark name with an epoch is wise. I wonder if this will get through plan checking.....
As for the proliferation of "UNPROVEN" marks being generated here in Chch - well that's another argument/discussion topic !!!

My favourite find to date (no names, no pack drill) was a mark protection survey that labelled a PRM from a previous mark protection survey 'unproven'.
