Most people view the power/telecommunications service boxes outside every other property as a "necessary evil". You cannot have power without a big (often black) plastic cube; and phone connections also have big (often green) boxes alongside the power boxes. OK, with the trend toward residential properties using cell connections only, and/or fibre (in the cities) the phone boxes are becoming redundant - but they remain in-situ nevertheless. So imagine the surprise and horror that these Napier landowners faced when they found an extremely large transformer box right smack in front of their corner section:- Stuff: 29-Mar-2017
It's enough to make you rage - at least there was a mutually acceptable resolution.... (PS: I recall a conversation many years ago where the Utility Companies were supposedly communicating about coming up with a combined utility type connection box/structure that was less visible; efficiently sized, and in keeping with other street furniture. It would appear nothing has come of it...)
