Can interests such as easements (ROW) be registered against land held in gazette notices? Then taking this further, can interests such as a consent notice or covenant be registered against land held as a reserve - such as a local purpose reserve vested on deposit? One example I have recently seen is a subdivision which is creating a local purpose reserve, over which high voltage power line run, therefore Transpower is requesting a no build consent notice. The other example is a ROW over railway land. If the answer is yes to either of these, how is the interest recorded and therefore searchable in Lol?

One way that this can be recorded is for the gazette notice itself to be registered in the LT system. The easements (and I presume consent notices too) can then be memorialised on the registered version of the gazette notice. I'm not sure how involved the process of registering the gazette is. Another way might be to issue a CIR (Computer Interest Register) for the easement, a la the the Operating Easements over the hydro lakes, or Crown Pastoral Leases. Hopefully Craig McInnes is watching - he can probably talk much more knowledgeably about this.

Thanks for that. A CIR sounds the story, I shall investigate that further.

LINZ tell me that they would issue a CIR.
With regard to the second issue: "a title must issue for all vested reserve Lots on deposit, registration can therefore be recorded against this accordingly"
