Did EQC save big on land claims in Chch? Stuff 30-July-16
Why do I get the feeling that the post-EQ issues will never be over?
Some interesting words within this article: - "There will be hazards officially associated with property titles"
- "insurance lecturer Dr Michael Naylor says this next step in the saga should be a genuine concern"
- "To run an argument about increased flood vulnerability, you are going to need to supply your own surveying advice, geotechnical advice, flood modelling, valuation evidence"
... which are interesting to compare to another statement made "in the heat of the moment" - John Key: "the government ...are standing alongside Cantabrians in their time of great need" [Message from the PM - "Christchurch Dreaming" Hobbs, M; 2011]
amongst others of similar ilk.
Should Surveyors be involved in these discussions - not necessarily leading the charge but providing expert technical advice with other professionals? Or should "we" just leave it in the hands of our Legal Brethren as often seems to be the case?
