This one has been flying below the radar.... Land Transfer Bill (5 July 2017).
'Narry a mention of "surveyors" in the press release or Minister's statement - as though Surveyors will not need to bother with, nor need to be involved in this updating of this particular law....
Can this be so?

I understand the intention is to modernise the LT Act, but from my reading of parts of it there are some quite significant changes (certainly in wording) regarding corrections to the register, compensation, and adverse possession against a Ltd title. Next to the Rules for Cadastral Survey and the Cadastral Survey Act, the LT Bill is probably the most important legislation for surveyors. Perhaps LINZ dont regard us as stakeholders in this regard, as the Crown dont guarantee dimensions? However, it would be good if someone in the RGL's office or SG's office could let all surveyors know what the significant differences now are.
