Perhaps there are more facts to this story about a legal access point being cut off by a highway upgrade and Armco barriers. Stuff: 24-June-2019Perhaps too, this story has been escalated a little beyond its importance - the landowner admits that cutting off the gate access is not too much of problem as it is hardly used (by him). However, a contractor who needs to use it regularly is affected. Perhaps the reporting should have asked the obvious question "What level of consultation was undertaken with adjoining landowners about cutting off access points? But I cannot help but agree with the sentiment in the other obvious statement:- "When you see a gate, it seems common sense not to fence over it."
