LINZ has published guidance to assist cadastral surveyors working in greater Christchurch when dealing with boundary conflicts arising from approved interim surveys.
The guidance explains:
• how boundary conflicts come about;
• the difference between title and non-title boundary conflicts;
• how LINZ can assist by providing information and advice to surveyors and lawyers;
• provision for alterations to titles and compensation; and
• considerations relating to subdivision consent.
An accompanying flow chart has also been developed, along with a case study outlining how one boundary conflict has been resolved.
