Campaigners are calling on the Council to not accept any proposal it receives requesting the rezoning of land in the Maitai Valley from rural to residential zoning which would permit large scale subdivisions.
The Save the Maitai group launched to organise against a combined 700-lot development project in both the Kākā Valley and on the Atawhai hills. The group has said it was not opposed to the development in the hills, but took exception to the valley development.
