I have been reading the article by the surveyor general in the latest Surveying+Spatial magazine. It is about the benefits of fully digital datasets and the capability for 3d modelling in Landonline. It is accompanied by a 3d picture of a unit development.
I can't see the benefit of this. In particular I can't see how its important at this time to the cadastral system. We don't do a lot of unit title developments so perhaps that's where I can't see the big picture.
I think there are definitely areas in the cadastral system that desperately need improvement. Limited Titles and Water Boundaries are obvious starting points. The last time we had a significant improvement in the cadastral system was when it became possible to create easements with the same person owning the dominant and servient tenements. - What a get improvement that was.
Why can't we improve our cadastral system in meaningful way.
To quote the well known meme - "prove me wrong"
