A Waikato cohousing project aimed at providing affordable homes 30 per cent below market rate is now in limbo because of proposed changes to a neighbouring residential development. Stuff - Business: 3-June-2021The Cambridge Cohousing Project Society planned to build up to 30 homes using a concept pioneered by the Earthsong Eco-Neighbourhood in Auckland 25 years ago. Cohousing communities are designed and run by the people who live in them. Members live in their own private dwelling but have access to shared indoor and outdoor common spaces, utilities and gardens.
