Hi everyone Got my hands on an old HP32SII. You can't beat the build quality of these classic HP calculators A HP48G+ has been my go to workhorse since survey school, but keen to use this simpler model. Anyone got a survey program for the 32SII, or perhaps a 32S, 42S or 33S which may also work? The only programs I have are for a 35S, which seems to work a little differently. Cheers Brian Curtis

Hi Brian, Welcome to the forum. I have a fairly simple set of programs for the 33S which I have linked below but I suspect it works a bit differently again - possibly more like the 35s. I'm more of a 15c guy these days (even more indestructible - my daily driver is only a year younger than me). If you let me know what you need in a program and if no one else can help I could look into writing some. I'd have to use an emulator as my vast collection of HPs doesn't include a 32 or 42. Cheers Alex

Hi Brian,
My HP32SII served me well for a long time but fell over a few years ago. My HP32SII program is probably pretty similar to Alex's 33S program but I'm happy to send it to you.
Cheers Mark

Hi Brian, Try SwissMicros DM42 for a survey daily driver.
I've just ordered my second one from Amazon NZ $450. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07B4W13GW).
They are a great DM42 calculator that replaces the famous HP42s. Its better as it has a larger screen, 4x lines and a cool screen saver, and has a computer connection port for uploading the programs so saves 6hrs of manual input on the old HP42s. It can run the famous NZ cadastral program, a masterpiece of programing from NZ well known TN (not sure if I can use his name in this forum). It uses the Free 42 emulator (http://thomasokken.com/free42/). This program also works on iphone and android and can run on your computer so can do bigger jobs. DM42 is great for small and large jobs. It does everything you need and has great menu prompts. They also do a DM15L to replace the HP11 and 15c model but really the footprint of the DM42 is only slightly larger and the 15L. I've had the DM42 since 2018 and worked flawlessly, I just ordered another one just in case. Some of the older ones have reportedly higher batter drain, not that I've noticed, so may be best to buy new as opposed to second hand. The 42 is far better than the 32 as the 42 has menus which make program execution so much easier. When my new one arrives if you want to see one I could send you my old one for you to try, of see you at the 27 Aug 2022 Seminar here in Christchurch. Cheers Phil Conway

Update 14/07/22 - my DM42 just arrived, 3 weeks for delivery. They obviously they have good supplies. So I'll put it in the cupboard with all my other, just in case items.
