A first principles, end-to-end review of the building consent system is now well underway as part of the building system reforms. If you work within the building consent system or have used it to get approval for building work in the past, we would like to hear from you to help us set the direction for future changes.
Our work to implement the Building Amendment Act 2021 is also continuing with new regulations for building product information. The regulations will make it easier for designers, builders and homeowners to decide which products are right for the job, use them as intended, and make decisions about alternative products where there are product shortages. The new regulations place obligations on manufacturers, importers, retailers and distributers and commence on 11 December 2023.
