‘Idyllic’ Bay of Plenty waterfront properties occupied by a Mongrel Mob president have failed to sell due to“any recipient of the properties is taking on a significant risk in their acquisition,” a high court judge ruled, in documents recently released to Stuff.
The judge has now given power to the person handling the sale “to do anything necessary” to sell the properties at the “best possible price” including granting confidentiality about prices offered and counter-offered.
Two years after they were first put up for sale the properties – formerly owned by Maketū’s Mongrel Mob president, Valentine Nicholas, until they were seized by the Crown under proceeds of crime legislation – have had no takers.
